Description
An exquisite micro-specimen showcasing classic native silver from the legendary Batopilas District of Chihuahua, Mexico.
Perched beautifully along the ridge of a pale calcite/quartz matrix is a delicate, bright fan of dendritic silver micro-crystals. The silver forms a complex, fir-tree-like ("herringbone") branching pattern with bright metallic luster and exceptional geometric detail under magnification.
Native silver specimens on matrix from the Batopilas region—famous worldwide for producing some of the finest wire and crystalline silver in history—are highly prized by mineral collectors for their intricate, organic growth habits and rich historical legacy.
